| Trainee Technician/Engineer |
| WHAT IS INVOLVED? |
The applicant will be working within Octagon's Installation and Service teams. This role is ideally suited to a person looking to start a career in an exciting and innovative growth industry. You will be working for a well-established, family run, NSI Gold & BAFE Approved Company who have specialised in fire and security systems for over 30 years. This is a great opportunity to work with and learn from our Senior Engineers. The role involves installing cables/hardware, and learning to commission new equipment and fault find/diagnose issues on existing security systems. You will be trained on the latest CCTV IP Cameras/data analytics/ intruder alarms & detection devices/ access control systems/ fire systems. |

| Desired skills and qualifications |
- To have practical skills in using hand tools, hand-drills and access equipment in this field, IT or electronics would be a bonus.
- To have a valid full Driving Licence.
- To have a basic understanding and interest in electrical and electronic principles and to have gained some work experience within this industry.
- Maths, English, Physics or Science at GCSE or Above.
- An Electrical/electronic principles related qualification

| Training |
| Training will be provided 'on the job' working alongside experienced engineers in installation and servicing. After successfully completing 6 months probation training will be provided by Tavcom, classroom based and online in a combination of Intruder Alarms, CCTV, Fire Alarms, IP networking, leading to BTEC Level 3 certificates.
Further training will be provided and ongoing throughout your employment by our partner manufacturers to ensure we are abreast the latest and best security technology. |

| Salary, benefits, hours |
Benefits: Tools provided, Van provided, Uniform, Pension, Overtime available
Normal hours of work will be 8:00 – 5:00pm Monday to Friday, 8:30-1:00pm Saturday (1 in 4)
Eventually participating in out of hour's standby and call out rotas
Salary dependant on experience |
